The Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) was created as a public sector organization to boost the country's power sector in 1972. The organization is responsible for planning and developing the nation's power infrastructure and for operating much of its power generation facilities.
Bangladesh Power Development Board needed a better way to manage their substations in different substation areas of Chittagong division of Bangladesh including enhance communication interfaces, training and transferring SCADA engineering capability and technology.
Abbey systems supplied turnkey power distribution network SCADA System for power distribution in the greater Chittagong area of Bangladesh and helped building a control centre at Kulshi substation and transferred SCADA engineering capability and technology.
The system was installed by local Bangladeshi Engineers with the guidance of Abbey Systems, Facility Management Services, Totaltel Pty. Ltd & BPDB over a 2 year period. Its success has lead to another SCADA & Metering contract being awarded to Abbey Systems in mid-2014.
In 2009 Abbey Systems won a $5M contract, for the supply of a turnkey SCADA System for power distribution in the Greater Chittagong area of Bangladesh. The system comprised the supply, shipping & installation of:
The system was installed by local Bangladeshi Engineers with the guidance of Abbey Systems, Facility Management Services, Totaltel Pty. Ltd & BPDB over a 2 year period. Its success has lead to another SCADA & Metering contract being awarded to Abbey Systems in mid-2014.
